MIELI mental health Kotka region
MIELI mental health Kotka region is a local organization of MIELI mental health Finland, founded in 2009. The organizations home base is Kotka and its operating area is Southern Kymenlaakso.
We have about 60 members and the board is responsible for operations. Also familiarize yourself with the rules of the organization.
We do preventive mental health work We strive to increase information about mental health and assist in finding the most important services for those who need support and help in life’s crisis situations.
Communal activities for many different groups
The core of our operations consists of well-being groups for different target groups. This is how we build a strong community in our region.
We help e.g. immigrants living in Kotka to integrate by guiding well-being groups. We also organize talking and reminiscing groups for residents of the housing units of the service housing association.

We organize events that promote the well-being of the mind. We are involved in e.g.
- Mental Health Art Week – A good mood from culture – in May
- Mielessä tuulee – in August
- World mental health day on 10.10.
- Mental health week in November
Building the well-being of the Kotka region together
The foundation pillars of our everday life are nature, healthy food, exercise, adequate sleep, relationships, culture and art as well as hobbies. These factors also affect mental health.
By working communally, we understand people’s needs. We strive to strenghten the well-being of our partners, participants as well as all residents in the Kotka regions. We have a strong cooperation network helping us.
