Strengthen your mind and build community
The core of our operations is to organize and create group activities that promote well-being.
You get to strengthen your own well-being, learn, share a good mood as well as help others. In this way, we build a strong community that serves as a solid foundation in a changing world.
Below are examples of our well-being groups.
Clubs
Our organization’s multicultural activities work group plans and implements club activities and events for immigrants living in Kotka.
In cooperation with the Peace United football group, we organize football and futsal clubs. The number of participants varies between 20 and 35. Football is played at Ruonalan urheiluhalli on Mondays and futsal at Jylpyn Sali on Thursdays.
The clubs emphasize good spirit, fair play, being active as well as team work. On average, 30 young immigrants attend the summer games twice a week.
We also participate in football and futsal tournaments. At the same time, we regularly develop our own tournament formats. The club is realized in cooperation with the football club Peli-Karhut.
We organize a children’s futsal club at Hovinsaari school. In the summer, there are game and yard play clubs for children.
Everday life/cooking clubs strengthen the integration of the participants by receiving teaching and guidance. The instructor gives advice e.g. related to food preparation, cleaning, managing finances, reading packaging labels and sorting waste. The club is organized in cooperation with the Kymenlaakso Martha Association.
The e-sports club combines video gaming and learning knowledge that promotes mental well-being. Through various games and presentations by experts, young immigrants also learn digital skills as well as language and conversation skills.
Huolituoli-style situations arise a lot and our own FIFA tournament has gained great popularity. Together we build a homely atmosphere. The e-sports club’s partner is XAMK Game Studios.
